Why was Dogapalooza created?
-
Dogapalooza was created in 2009 through the idea of Marian Bruin who believed that a dog event would bring people together and help revitalize an area. Her idea was taken and expanded upon by shifting the focus to fundraising and educating the public.
-
Within Alberta there is an expansive network of volunteers and foster homes who help out animal-loving organizations. These groups often operate on shoestring budgets. Sometimes their volunteers take money out of their own pocket to pay for the basic needs of the animals in their care.
